A checkerboard grid of solid and terrazzo-speckled tiles with semicircles and a single black sun disc on gold. Bauhaus tile grid.
Terrazzo floors run through county housing: downtown cottages, motels along Dixie Highway, kitchens, cool underfoot in August. The chips in the stone are a census of everywhere the aggregate came from. This grid sets tiles against solid color, one black sun holding the gold square.
