Reserved for Two

Two chairs, no agenda.

Two pool chairs and a striped umbrella against a coral wall, doubled in still pool water. Modernist flat illustration.

The Story

Every old motel court and backyard from Lake Worth Beach to Delray keeps the same arrangement: two chairs, one umbrella, a wall painted the color of late light. Mid-morning the pool sits empty and perfectly level, and the water holds the chairs a second time, upside down and wavering. Nothing about the scene is in a hurry, and nothing needs to be added to it.

The Making

  • Composed in three flat bands - coral wall, cream deck, sage water - with the chairs and umbrella set dead center on the middle line.
  • Color held to a two-value foundation, deep pool teal against coral, the water lightened one step so the reflection reads as the same scene under glass.
  • Reflection built as a flipped copy of the chairs and umbrella, redrawn with ripple offsets so the still surface moves.

Own this print? Pin where it lives.

Every print made here heads out into the world: a hallway in Ohio, a kitchen in Oregon, a desk somewhere cold. If this one landed with you, drop a pin and put your town on the map.

It’s printed next to the QR code on the story card that came with your print.

City level only. Your pin shows the town, never your address.
